My angels

I have recently been reading Loving God with all your Mind, by Elizabeth George and have looked for an angel picture to post to convey one of her encouraging words.............but nothing seems to be what I want, so I am sending you my four angels. Well, as the story goes........ a colossal cube of marble was delivered to Michelangelo's studio........ and as he walked around and around surveying it, touching it and even pressing his face against the cold marble.........Suddenly, he picked up a mallet and chisel and swung ~blow after blow causing small and large chunks of marble to fly in every direction. Watching in awe his apprentice screamed, "what are you doing?!" You are ruining a perfectly good piece of marble!"
I love what comes next! .......With the passion of an artist with a vision, Michelangelo answered, "I see an angel in there and I've got to get him out!" Let's remember, as Elizabeth reminded me~ we serve a Master Artist who is continually thinking of the plans he has for us............. Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, Plans to prosper you , not to harm you, Plans to give you a hope and a future." NIV We just need to be on the journey, and know pruning and "chiseling" are a part of the process. Life is a wild ride, no doubt! Hold on tight my friends.! Hugs to you and your angels!

A sweet day

Found these fun vintage prom dresses yesterday! Driving in the country to our apple orchard destination, took the long road home and saw these swaying in the breeze outside a flea market stand in what locals call "Bean Blossom". Of course I squealed and the sweet and smart guy that my Mike is, stopped. Anna and I were magnatized to them. A pinkish one for Anna and a lilac one for me.......at $10 each how could we walk away?? What will we do with them? Well, for now, gazing at their girliness is enough. I'm sure we will think of something. Let me know if you think of anything!! Trueman liked them for hiding between as you can see. Have a sweet start to your week, looking for treasures along the way no matter what form they come to you in! Feel the hug! XO

I just don't understand

I just don't understand why she keeps her window blinds shut and doesn't seek the beauty beyond those walls and into the outdoors. Aren't windows wonderful?! I pray she sees the beauty in all of creation every day.
I should hope to do the same! Still.......... I don't understand why you wouldn't want to open the blinds the minute you get out of bed to see these grand Hydrangeas waving and smiling at you! Maybe someday.......for now, we can enjoy them, here in blog land. I love the vintage fabric in her bathroom that glows with the wall paint called heaven, that you see here as well.
It has little purple music notes at the bottom before that gorgeous turquise starts.
I know she will look out her window someday. Being 12 isn't all that much about looking out of windows I suppose.

Play

Rebecca Sower so kindly explained how she created her tags, when I inquired this week. Please check out her beautiful blog by clicking here and her upcoming class at Artology here. I sure have enjoyed the tools and metal in this project..........lots of fun sanding and oxidizing! I'll show what I did with these in a few days. It's Raining here today and it feels like a "free" day to play. Hope you have some play time today too! Oh little play mate, come out and play with me.............and bring your dolly's 3, beneath the apple tree............

Paper Treasures!

One man's junk is another one's treasure! I had to show you all the vintage wallpaper treasure from last week's auction. One of the real blessings in finding this, and winning it was splitting and sharing it with 2 other artist friends who went as well~ and of course we were blessed to meet the couple who had stored it, and actually re-found it as they cleared and sold their Mother's estate. They were thrilled to hear we would be creating goodies with it and we were touched to meet such sweet people. It is really old and fragile, but I will try to post some shots of the designs and colors on a later post. Thank you Lisa, Hope, and Nancy for helping to cut all this into shares. Let's junk again soon!! You never know what you will find:)

My littlest Baby bird flew off to her first day of Middle School today..........and unknowingly, I found a little piece of heaven just about 15 minutes later. Looking out on these soybeans on my jog on our little road I thanked God for a little slice of beauty just for that moment in those lush green leaves. They covered many acres and what a sight that was! I turned from thoughts of concern for my Baby bird to just the enormity of love and care for us. I bought a necklace from HOPE this week that has 1 Thessalonians 5:16.
Be joyful always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
Be joyful, pray (and pray some more) and be grateful!
Happy thoughts of you my friends, today! XO

crown obsession

My crown obsession continues.......... and I will be taking these in to sell them at Lola Rue very soon. Lots of fun things already there! Not the best picture, but I had to show you the fun!! Click on the picture to enlarge it for more details. Also see the new wooden box to house my rubber stamps hidden behind the crowns. Also the cute apron by Kim Kwan . Toodles! Go make something!

Here we are before.........

Anna takes this picture (along with Daddy at a safe distance) of my niece Ericka and I this past weekend at Holiday world theme park.

Here we are before the ride.............

Moments later

.......Here we are after the ride. WAY TOO FUNNY. I seriously peed my pants. I was crying/laughing uncontrollably. Whew! I am going to try and look for less radical ways to get a good belly laugh. Seriously. My bladder can't take this girls! Ericka was sure a fun sport and sweet gal though.

Hello Dolly

Just sending out a little art inpsiration with my Dollys view of my front yard from my Art room window. I've been working in there, here and there this past week. Found some cute inpsiration for organizing the closet........getting ready for the "back to school" hours around here when I can create a bit more. Dolly's friend is quiet as a church mouse when I sit in front of him and create. Right now there is cardboard crown sitting there............just wanting to be cutsied up! Not to wish Summer away, but I'm itching for some art time here girls, how about you?? What cha itching for???
